How Unfortunate: Mr. Crapo

So while we were watching the news tonight, we were thankful that we are not from Idaho.  Nothing against the state, but their senator has a unique last name.

It's probably ironic that he is on the Senate Budget Committee with the state of this economy.

15 Months....already!!.

Jeryn had her 15 month appt today with the pediatrician. Once again she weighed in very petite. Only 18.5 lbs! She is so much fun these days bringing us the books she wants read to her, and pointing at everything.  She is walking all over and I am sure that running is just around the corner. She is signing "Please" and "More" for food and help with things. We will see how adventurous I get whether she learns any other signs. It would be nice for her to know "Thank you", but right now I think it might be confusing. 15 months has gone by fast! These were just a few shots I took today while she was having her snack.

Beaches, Sunsets, and Snow = Road-trip

Hi everyone.  Here are just a few highlights on our road trip to Florida to visit family...

Here we are with Josh's Aunt Lil and Uncle Jerry.  They were great tour guides and hosts for our trip!  So much fun!
They took us to the smallest post office in the United States.  We mailed our friend Maggie's Birthday card from here.  We hope it didn't get lost in the vast pile of mail they get daily...
We checked out the Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve while we were there.  Jeryn had a great time and we saw lots of gators!

They sure have big claws!  Look out!  Ouch!

We capped off the visit with a great sunset at Naples Pier.  Hundreds of people show up for the sunset and everyone cheers as the sun sets.  It was really pretty.
The road trip was fun, but certainly a long drive.  Not to mention that we had to trek through some heavy weather.   Fortunately, we made it safe and sound!  Atlanta was in the middle of a snowstorm as we made it home.  Hotlanta?  Not in March...
We came home to find that Murfreesboro had been hit with 7" of snow!  Ahh?!  Most of it melted by Sunday afternoon, but welcome home I guess, huh?
Here are the rest of the shots from our trip...

Piggy Tails & Long Pants...

Jeryn's hair has grown quite a bit over the last couple months, so this weekend we practiced piggy tails! They looked funny, but really were quite cute. We also tried on an outfit that she got for her birthday from Grandma Skippy (Beth) to see if it would fit yet and well....the pants were a little long! Thanks Grandma!! I'll grow into them someday.

Tiny Tots Valentine's Party

Jeryn and I attended our first valentine party today. As you can see it was utter chaos,  but oh so much fun! When we got home it was dinner, bath and to bed. She had a fun time, but was very tired as can be seen in picture #4. We hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day on Saturday!

Little River Canyon Excursion

We took a little road trip to Alabama on Saturday to Little River Canyon National Preserve.  It was just over 2 hours to get there and well worth the trip.

We hiked down the canyon to the base of the river.  It was a lot of fun, but certainly a strenuous hike.  Here's how the National Park Service (NPS) describes the hike: "You won't need to exercise the rest of the week after hiking this trail.  It is not recommended for small children or pets.  It would be hard to hold onto a child or pet as you climb over the steep boulders."

Information that would have been useful to us yesterday!  We've learned that when the NPS describes a hike as strenuous, they're not kidding.
