English oddities...

We found Bisquick...looks like it is from the 1950s...

Take a guess which paper towel is from America and which one is from England...

Aww...crap

One of the perks of living close to the park is that all the pigeons come visit your "car park" (driveway)...

Happy Belated Easter

Mara wasn't very excited to be done with the eggs...

It wasn't real easy dying eggs when they are all brown to begin with.  It worked ok, but it took a lot longer.

Hope you had a great Easter!  We spent the day unpacking boxes!  Ha!

A few items from our new home...

Our new house has character...

Here are a couple of interesting items from our new home...
Keys for the front door, back gate, and laundry room:

Door knocker on the front door:

The entry way floor:

I guess that's why we call it our 'English Cottage' :)
I hope it is a good home for the next few years.

Happy Easter!

Hi friends and family.  Sorry for the long hiatus, it has been a busy few months.

Here are a few stats on our travels since moving out of our home in Tennessee on February 7th.  We have...

  • Spent 26 nights with friends and family,
  • 37 nights in a hotel,
  • Driven over 1700 miles,
  • Flew over 43,000 airline miles on 16 flights,
  • Taken 19 trains,
  • Skied in two countries,
  • Had our credit card declined at least 6 times for various reasons,
  • and purchased a beer with 5 currencies (Dollars, Pounds, Swiss Francs, Euros, and Pesos).

We are finally working on getting settled into our new home.  As we do, we will be much better about updating our blog regularly to share the excitement, frustrations, and interesting experiences from England.

Thank you everyone for your support and help during a very busy time!  Especially to the Scotts, the Fells, the Anderson's, Pam, the Cooper's, the Firsosky's, the Bublitz's, the Berkowitz's.  Thank you for sharing your home with us.  So sorry if we left any items, illness, or mess behind.  Thanks for loving us and understanding.  Please know that all of you have a place to stay at our home should you ever be able to visit Chester, England:)

2012 Christmas Cherub Choir (and the boy who likes to yell)

This year Jeryn participated in her first church Christmas program. I think she was adorable and did a splendid job singing her songs. The boy in the row behind her added some humor...
