Randoms

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I guess I just haven't been taking as many pictures lately. This compilation is from the past week and a half. The first three are from a birthday party we went to this weekend. It was at Bounce U an indoor room with a bunch of those bounce house thingys. They were nice enough to let Jeryn play in one after all the bigger kids were done. She really liked crawling around in there. The rest of her time was spent bouncing with Daddy on the side of the big slide. The next picture is just one of her grabbing for her magazine. It was the latest Pottery Barn magazine I got in the mail. It took her a good week to get it completely ripped up. What GREAT entertainment! And then of course the last one is Jeryn and her buddy Lolly. They sure are a cute pair :-)

Good Parenting? - Part Two

"Look Mom I'm standing with a tank of gas! Maybe I do take after my dad?"

I'm sure our daughter will look at this Blog some day in the future and come to the realization that Mom and Dad were completely incompetent as parents.

Jeryn got into the bookcase this weekend and OF COURSE this is the book she pulled out! I forgot we even had it. We got it as a wedding gift 7 years ago.

Comments welcome...we know you have plenty of smart-a$$ remarks!

Abby Comes to Visit

Our Golden Retriever friend Abby has come for a visit through the weekend. Her Mom and Dad are visiting New York for a few days. Lolly has stayed at Abby's house a handful of times, but this time it was Abby's turn to come to our house. She is not convinced about us yet. She spent most of last night pacing and panting and then at 1am she puked. That was nice. I finally was able to get her to eat her breakfast today at 1pm, by bringing her into our bedroom, shutting the door, sitting down and petting her while she ate. Poor thing just wants to go home I think. I hope she adjusts soon. She and Lolly have been enjoying a good game of tug here and there .

And the last pic is just Jeryn being her cute self with another one of Lolly's toys.

7 Year Itch?

People always talk of a "7 year itch" in marriage. I'm not quite sure what they mean by that. I do know that Josh and I just celebrated our 7 year anniversary at home with strawberry ice cream and warm brownies because we forgot to get a babysitter so that we could have a "nice dinner out." But hey we're cool with that. Sleeping baby, good dessert and Josh was home before 7pm...I can't complain! He also is going to take me to see the Nashville Symphony to celebrate. We are planning for October. I hope we can remember to get a babysitter!

Big Girl Bathtub

As many of you know from reading the Blog we here at the Anderson's are a bit old fashioned in that Jeryn was bathed in none other than our kitchen sink ...until just recently. When she started flooding the floor with her splashes I decided it was time for the BIG TIME in the real bathtub. She just loves it! She loves to crawl around and splash till her heart is content. I do miss watching the news and getting dinner ready while she is safely at hip level, but it has been fun to play with new toys in the tub. In this picture Daddy is playing with one of her new funnel toys...aghhhh the life of a 9 1/2 month old!

California Fun!

We had a great time in California last week!  It was a great chance to catch up with some of our close friends.  On Friday, we went into "The City" of San Francisco.  It was probably one of the clearest days we've ever seen there...so we took lots of picts!
We also stopped at the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park.  Unless you are a big fan of tea or Zen, it might be overrated.  Still made a good backdrop for some good picts!
We took advantage of the nice day to take a hike on Land's End Trail overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.  Pretty cool and highly recommended.
We also took Jeryn to the ocean.  She had a fun time hopping in the waves!  Brr!  It was chilly!

Spaghetti and Strollers

Jeryn has had a few big days recently. We just returned from a trip to California to visit friends (I hope to post about that sometime this week). She also just had her 9 month appt at the pediatrician yesterday. She weighed in at a whopping 15lbs 12oz and 26 inches. She is just our little peanut!
We also got the go-ahead to give her all foods now except PB, honey and cow's milk. So, we have had spaghetti for dinner these last two nights. She loves it! Tonight she even got some in her hair....how classic!
We went for a walk this morning as we do frequently, but today Jeryn was able to sit in her big girl stroller and she enjoyed every minute! She just loved to look around at everything... especially her favorite puppy Lolly.

Fun with Toys

Our friends the Gardner's came over for dinner last night. Their son Tyler is 20 months and was really enjoying Jeryn's exersaucer...so funny! Then, he brought over one of his toys to give to Jeryn since he doesn't use it any more. She just loves her new play table. Standing and playing is the new cool thing.
