Fit, No Fit?

Jeryn has developed a little bit of an attachment to mom recently...it's even worse when she's tired.  Uncle Chuck calls this game "Fit, No Fit"...

Minnesota Nice

Here a sign we saw while doing some last minute Christmas shopping...it seems to capture the "Minnesota Nice" concept well...

Christmas in MN

Christmas has been great this year.  Jeryn enjoyed some new toys and even dressed up as a toy soldier...

Thanks Grandma Pam for a fun visit as well!

We Believe in Santa

General Mills had a visit from Santa today, so we thought we better bring Jeryn to meet him. As you can see, it was a magical experience!

I Like to Share My Kix

On Friday afternoon Jeryn was a little fussy, so I brought her table into the kitchen where I was and put some Kix in it for a snack. Before I knew it, Lolly was having an afternoon snack as well! It is so cute how they are becoming such good buddies!

Jeryn + 4 shots =

Jeryn had her One Year appointment today at the Pediatrician's office. She now is tipping the scales at a whopping 17lbs 11 1/2 oz! It was fun to put her on the scale and see how much she has grown. She also had to get 4 shots. Two to each quad...poor baby. It was all a bit much to take as you can see. She fell asleep drinking her water on the way home.

It's My First Birthday!

Progression shots of Jeryn eating her birthday cupcake. We had a lovely celebration on Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and Auntie Kirk and Uncle Chuck.  As you can see she truly enjoyed every minute!

Jeryn Reed Anderson Journal Entry - "ThanksBirthday"

Eventful days in Jerynland - invasion of Anderson & Bubli.  What had been a rather pleasant fall, complete with enjoyable visits from MN (see journal entries re: Grandma Pam, Aunt Janessa) has turned, quite quickly, into a strange season.  Thursday started out to be a normal day, climbing on couch, filling diapers, being cute, the normal Jeryn routine.  At approximately noon as daddy was watching the football game, Lolly started barking a sign I now recognize as an ominous warning of the events which were to transpire.  Soon after the bark attack I was accosted by my loving Grandparents, Auntie Kirk and Uncle Uncle.  They could hardly get in the door without whisking me away from the safety of my parents, demanding kisses as if I were a kissing booth at the fair - how uncouth!!  I was fortunate to receive a brief respite from the accosting I was receiving so that all the grown ups could give thanks by cooking a bird and eating too much.  I was excited to try new culinry delights such as turkey and cranberries (note to self: do not come between mom and cranberries...might lose finger).  Fat, happy and full of tryptophan I retired for a long fall nap.  It was, however, not a restful night.  I slept poorly dreaming of a rock and roll guitar hero mother and my dad keeping time on a wine bottle.  I can still hear the song in my head (1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 1, 3, 4) and so on.

I spent a pleasant Friday inside, spared from the constant requests from Uncle Chuck for kisses as he and Grandpa and dad attempted to set a world record for most time spent setting up the fewest number of Christmas lights.  Despite many trips to Lowe's to buy and rebuy the same ladder they were unable to attain the record they sought, only needing 6 hours to hang 5 strands of lights.  After hanging lights Uncle Chuck still had time to help me with a diaper I had filled.  Uncle Chuck did not seem to enjoy dealing with the diaper as much as I did being freed from its load.   Friday evening I played with my Aunt Kirk and Grandma before going to bed.  Again I slept poorly.  My dreams were filled with corks popping, Champagne pouring, laughter, Farkle and a spirited game of 'In a Pickle'.  I am certain that I dreamt of many strange things, some real - like how Paradise is larger than all things outside of Hope and some completely unrealistic - like the cubic volume of a river being larger than a crater or sand being anything other than the smallest grain.

Saturday was by far the best day of this affair.  For some reason my visitors insisted on constantly congratulating me on the fact that I was born, even going so far as to shower me with presents.  I now have many more fun things to play with, a duck that I can walk, a horse that I can sit on from Grandma and Grandpa and many new cute clothes.  I especially like the horse...I'm a true Tennessee Stud now!!  I look forward to sitting on it every day for HOURS and having daddy rock me.  Thanks daddy!

All in all it has been an interesting experience.  I really like Grandma and Grandpa, Kirk is sweet but I'm not so sure about Chuck.  His fur is fun to play with but other than that I'm not sure if I'll ever give him the kiss he keeps asking for...

I Like My Hood...kinda

As many of you probably know Jeryn has a large dislike for anything on her head. I don't know what we would do if we lived in MN! I can't get this child to keep a hat on her head for anything...but today she decided that the hood on her shirt was ok. Josh took some great shots outside of her enjoying her hood. Maybe there is hope for a hat at Christmas time when we are in MN.

Snow in Tennessee?

Noooooo! No snow here, but Jeryn was given a very cute snowsuit from Grandma for when we go back to MN for the holidays in December. She didn't know quite what to think of it when we put it on her..she stayed very still and made no attempts at moving. I laughed SO HARD I think I may have shed a few tears....it was hilarious! We were thinking of the movie The Christmas Story. Then I helped her sit up and when she realized she still really couldn't move she started to get upset, so off with the snowsuit for now....more to come with that in December :-)

Fall Has Arrived in TN

The high today here in Murfreesboro is only supposed to be 68 degrees, and we are going on a hayride tonight, so we thought today was a great day to wear these cute overalls. I can't remember who we got them from, but boy does Jeryn look cute today! Something about a baby in overalls is just so sweet.

Mommy's Little Helper

Another new discovery....the dryer. Jeryn has started helping me unload the dryer..usually while I am trying to LOAD it. Haha! Thanks for all your help Jeryn. Mommy really appreciates it.

Randoms

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I guess I just haven't been taking as many pictures lately. This compilation is from the past week and a half. The first three are from a birthday party we went to this weekend. It was at Bounce U an indoor room with a bunch of those bounce house thingys. They were nice enough to let Jeryn play in one after all the bigger kids were done. She really liked crawling around in there. The rest of her time was spent bouncing with Daddy on the side of the big slide. The next picture is just one of her grabbing for her magazine. It was the latest Pottery Barn magazine I got in the mail. It took her a good week to get it completely ripped up. What GREAT entertainment! And then of course the last one is Jeryn and her buddy Lolly. They sure are a cute pair :-)

Good Parenting? - Part Two

"Look Mom I'm standing with a tank of gas! Maybe I do take after my dad?"

I'm sure our daughter will look at this Blog some day in the future and come to the realization that Mom and Dad were completely incompetent as parents.

Jeryn got into the bookcase this weekend and OF COURSE this is the book she pulled out! I forgot we even had it. We got it as a wedding gift 7 years ago.

Comments welcome...we know you have plenty of smart-a$$ remarks!

Abby Comes to Visit

Our Golden Retriever friend Abby has come for a visit through the weekend. Her Mom and Dad are visiting New York for a few days. Lolly has stayed at Abby's house a handful of times, but this time it was Abby's turn to come to our house. She is not convinced about us yet. She spent most of last night pacing and panting and then at 1am she puked. That was nice. I finally was able to get her to eat her breakfast today at 1pm, by bringing her into our bedroom, shutting the door, sitting down and petting her while she ate. Poor thing just wants to go home I think. I hope she adjusts soon. She and Lolly have been enjoying a good game of tug here and there .

And the last pic is just Jeryn being her cute self with another one of Lolly's toys.
