Jeryn Reed Anderson Journal Entry - "ThanksBirthday"

Eventful days in Jerynland - invasion of Anderson & Bubli.  What had been a rather pleasant fall, complete with enjoyable visits from MN (see journal entries re: Grandma Pam, Aunt Janessa) has turned, quite quickly, into a strange season.  Thursday started out to be a normal day, climbing on couch, filling diapers, being cute, the normal Jeryn routine.  At approximately noon as daddy was watching the football game, Lolly started barking a sign I now recognize as an ominous warning of the events which were to transpire.  Soon after the bark attack I was accosted by my loving Grandparents, Auntie Kirk and Uncle Uncle.  They could hardly get in the door without whisking me away from the safety of my parents, demanding kisses as if I were a kissing booth at the fair - how uncouth!!  I was fortunate to receive a brief respite from the accosting I was receiving so that all the grown ups could give thanks by cooking a bird and eating too much.  I was excited to try new culinry delights such as turkey and cranberries (note to self: do not come between mom and cranberries...might lose finger).  Fat, happy and full of tryptophan I retired for a long fall nap.  It was, however, not a restful night.  I slept poorly dreaming of a rock and roll guitar hero mother and my dad keeping time on a wine bottle.  I can still hear the song in my head (1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 1, 3, 4) and so on.

I spent a pleasant Friday inside, spared from the constant requests from Uncle Chuck for kisses as he and Grandpa and dad attempted to set a world record for most time spent setting up the fewest number of Christmas lights.  Despite many trips to Lowe's to buy and rebuy the same ladder they were unable to attain the record they sought, only needing 6 hours to hang 5 strands of lights.  After hanging lights Uncle Chuck still had time to help me with a diaper I had filled.  Uncle Chuck did not seem to enjoy dealing with the diaper as much as I did being freed from its load.   Friday evening I played with my Aunt Kirk and Grandma before going to bed.  Again I slept poorly.  My dreams were filled with corks popping, Champagne pouring, laughter, Farkle and a spirited game of 'In a Pickle'.  I am certain that I dreamt of many strange things, some real - like how Paradise is larger than all things outside of Hope and some completely unrealistic - like the cubic volume of a river being larger than a crater or sand being anything other than the smallest grain.

Saturday was by far the best day of this affair.  For some reason my visitors insisted on constantly congratulating me on the fact that I was born, even going so far as to shower me with presents.  I now have many more fun things to play with, a duck that I can walk, a horse that I can sit on from Grandma and Grandpa and many new cute clothes.  I especially like the horse...I'm a true Tennessee Stud now!!  I look forward to sitting on it every day for HOURS and having daddy rock me.  Thanks daddy!

All in all it has been an interesting experience.  I really like Grandma and Grandpa, Kirk is sweet but I'm not so sure about Chuck.  His fur is fun to play with but other than that I'm not sure if I'll ever give him the kiss he keeps asking for...
