Spring Cleaning

This year in an attempt to actually get some Spring Cleaning done around the house we made a list of things that need to get done... ooo, did I say "we"? Meant to say, I made a list. So far, we have done almost everything on the list. I think all we have left is to clean the baseboards and molding and finish cleaning out our closet. Josh has been quite the trooper and has helped out without even complaining! What a GREAT HUSBAND!!

The pictures above are from a few weekends ago when it was a gorgeous day out and we decided to get "Clean Garage" off the list. The girls enjoyed playing in the little pool and just being outside together on a nice day. The first picture was to try and capture Jeryn's bike helmet, and mud boots outfit. Silly girl!

New Favorite

This is how the girls like to spend their time these days...playing together in Mara's crib!

Quick Visit

This one needs to go in a frame for sure!
Silly Uncle Betty!
He's pretty funny, but I sure love to cuddle with him.
Auntie J, I like your couch!
Soooooooo, tired.

Mara and I traveled to Minnesota this past weekend for a girls weekend. A group of my nursing pals from college and I try to get together once a year. We take turns hosting the weekend. This year was Jaci's turn to host and she lives in Rochester, MN. Mara and I had a fabulous time with the girls and were even lucky enough to squeeze in some time in Minneapolis with my mom, sister and her husband.

Lunch Stop

Jeryn and Mara were lucky little girls today. Their Great Aunt and Uncle stopped for a visit on their way back home to Minnesota. Jerry and Lil spend their winters in Naples, FL. Sometimes on their drives to and from Minnesota they stop in to say hello. Today we shared lunch together. It was very nice! Always happy to host family as we don't see them often enough.

Big Sister feeds Little Sister

Jeryn was SO EXCITED when I asked her if she wanted to feed Mara some cereal this afternoon. I haven't seen her glow like this in awhile. It was so sweet! Pay attention to both girls when you watch. Jeryn's mouth is so cute when she is putting the spoon into Mara's mouth.

Sitting in the tub is fun!

I Got it Mom!

We chuckled last night when Jeryn insisted on carrying all her bath paraphernalia to our bathroom on her own.

Art Easel

When we made our trek to Ikea back in February we purchased a very inexpensive art easel for the girls. I have wanted to get Jeryn one for some time, but have had a hard time deciding what kind or which one to get. When we saw this one I thought it would be AWESOME and even if it wasn't we would only be out $15. So, I pulled it out the other day and Jeryn was so excited! This is her doing her first easel painting. I think she said this one was for Daddy, but she says that about most things :-) One side has a dry erase board (note to self, buy dry erase markers!) and the other a chalk board. I think this is going to provide many friends and family with original art work!

7 Months

This has truly been the fastest 7 months of my life! Mara turned 7 months on the 5th. She continues to be such a happy and content baby. We tried cereal again today and I am happy to report she did MUCH BETTER. I gave her some in the morning and before bed and she ate it right up this time! I think carrots are on the menu for tomorrow. Jeryn always loved carrots, so we'll see what she thinks.

I had an appointment this afternoon at 4pm, which meant bringing both girls with me as Josh was not home from work. I can honestly say I wasn't the least bit worried about how they would do in public. My only concern was that Mara might be a little fussy as this would be her normal fussy time during the day. The girls didn't disappoint! I actually read a magazine article in the waiting room while they played together. Then everyone who came into the room commented on what good girls they were. I definitely stood a little taller as I thought to myself, "Yes, these are my girls." Hmm, I am already so proud of them. I can't imagine what the future holds!

Mara has Cereal

Mara is officially 7 months today. How exciting! I thought we would celebrate by having some rice cereal..she wasn't as thrilled as I thought she would be. Lately she has really been watching us when we eat. Almost as if to say, "Where's mine?" So, I was CERTAIN she would gobble up some cereal, but much to my surprise, she wasn't very interested.

Ice Water Anyone?

Swimming

Mara went swimming for the first time yesterday. As you can see, she didn't enjoy it at all!
