Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family that we couldn't see this year.  We spend the holiday in Chester and welcomed Auntie Kirk and Grandma for a visit!  We also learned some important lessons about holiday train schedules too, but that's a longer story.

We hope your holidays were just as nice as ours!  We feel blessed this Christmas.

Christmas in Chester 2014

We were lucky enough to spend Christmas with Grandma Pam again this year. We always have so much fun together! Highlights include: Last day of school before break, Christmas baking, 'Frozen' tie blanket making, Lantern Magic at Chester Zoo, Snow White Pantomime, hot dogs at Costco, and Christmas with the Liverpool Philharmonic. It was a quick 9 days and I think we wore Grandma out to exhaustion,  but many lasting memories were made. Here are a few moments captured on camera:

The Berkowitz's Visit

We were so excited to finally host the Berkowitz family here in Chester. They have been a bit busy since we moved over: New baby, MBA, and two new careers! Now that all of that excitement has settled, it was the perfect time for them to visit. We enjoyed fish-n-chips (a few times), Christmas markets in Chester and London, Thanksgiving celebration, and a 7th birthday party. It was so much fun! We were so sad to see them go, but their sweet dog Mini was excited to have them back. Thanks for making the trek over. We love and miss you so much!!

Trip 12: Grandma Visits London for Christmas!

We were fortunate enough to have Grandma come to visit for Christmas!  Yesterday was her first trip to London.  Although it rained, we saw the Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, Covent Garden, and severals trains in-between.

Both the train rides were a little interesting:
On the way to London, we had the entire train car to ourselves.
On the way home, our train hit a tree.  It broke a window, delayed us an hour, and we had to get a new train at the next stop.  I suppose it could have been a lot worse!

The next few days will be focused on Christmas cookies, our traditional Christmas roast cooked by Grandma, and I'm sure a few trips into town.

Santa Express 2011

The Santa Express makes an appearance each year in our neighborhood. It has been a couple years since we have joined in the fun. This year Jeryn sat on Santa's lap and asked for glitter glue. It was sweet. Here are a few pics with our neighbors, Audrey and Lydia, as the girls waited on Santa to arrive.

Christmas in May

It may be May 1st, but I FINALLY finished Mara's Christmas stocking! YAY! We will have 4 stockings on the mantle this year. I can't wait! A special thank you goes out to my mom, and Kirk for your help when you visited. If anyone else helped and I have forgotten, please forgive me.

Hey Griswold, nice lights!

We put up the Christmas lights this weekend too...the new LED white lights look blue. Not really what we intended, as the back of the house looks like a a law office or something. Oh well, at least they are energy efficient. Here's what 650 'cool white' Christmas lights look like:

In true Clark Griswold form, we cut our own Christmas tree too. We didn't find it in the middle of the woods, just at the local tree farm. Looks like about an 8 footer:

Christmas in MN

Christmas has been great this year.  Jeryn enjoyed some new toys and even dressed up as a toy soldier...

Thanks Grandma Pam for a fun visit as well!
